MM Lee's speech + a great time out` [ 12:13:00 am ]

I chanced upon MM Lee's speech content as reported in The Straits Times today and God used his words to remind me of how good leadership is so important to a country, a nation, a kingdom.

MM Lee on the 3 elements a country needs to succeed:

1. A government that people have confidence in and will trust when tough decisions need to be made.

2. Leaders who are above board, who make decisions based on necessity, not how they will personally benefit.

3. Able men in charge. And you judge their ability by how well they can govern, not on their persuasive power.

Everything rises and falls on leadership. The article made me more determined to really be a leader of the abovementioned qualities.

On a lighter note, I met up with my secondary school friends for dinner in the evening. It was wonderful. We went to this Malay cum Hong Kong style restaurant near our homes called "Bilal"..there were seven of us and we couldn't stop talking, catching up with each other and reminiscing the "good ol' days"...hahaha, it felt so great to see everyone so grown and different and yet at the same time, retaining the same kind of themselves that only those who've grown up together would know and identify with.

I really love such meet-ups. And the best thing is that we already had our very next all planned, before we left for home just now. (:
