I want to[ 11:32:00 am ]
Good Saturday morning!! :)
I'm really enjoying my Sat so far..had just got back from a hearty breakfast at Chong Pang (the super duper popular eating place in my estate - boy, it was CROWDED!) with my dad & mum plus my cousie & her hubby and little baby Darius boy! I can't help but gush over this sweet and charming boy in my life :)))
I gained so much just being with my parents and cousie's family. My dad & mum are like "mentors" to my cousie & her hubby in the area of family life and marriage..I feel so proud that they are a source of guidance to the younger couple in having a good marriage and raising a child. Though all four are not Christians, I think that's something exemplary. Christians or not, I believe it's important for every couple in love to have a good role model to learn from and of course, to be a good exmaple to the other younger couples as well.
My dad was carrying Darius when the kopi-soh (coffee auntie) asked if that was his grandson! Everyone burst out laughing of course..and he told her that the 19mth-old boy's his grand-nephew. But I think I caught something there....I saw how happy my dad & mum were..you know, it's like they (our folks) really love children and yet now in their old age, it makes it difficult to have one and start raising a child all over again. So the hope is passed on to us, their own children...yea. And I think it might sound quite silly to hear this from a just nearing 21 yr old now..
But I want to. I want to get married and give my folks grandchildren to hold. I want my parents to experience the joy of being grandparents. I yearn to see them beaming with pride when they carry my children and the aunties & uncles in the market talk to them and ask about their lovely grandchildren. :)
Haha, don't worry people. I'm not in a rush or urging for a merge, really. Just some thoughts that I wanna share here.
I'm beginning to cherish my folks even more. I know we can't ever repay all that they've done for us.
But if I can do something to make their days better and happiness-filled, I want to.
