a love story

I was chatting with my mum over dinner and I got her to share on how she met my dad. Again. haha, I've asked her many times before and each time, I find out something new. :)
Anyway, (I'm so excited) I learnt that my parents had first met each other when my dad, then an army regular, was sent to investigate the reason why my uncle (mum's bro) had wanted to defer his NS. It was just a random, one-time thing.
A period of about one to two years passed and then came the second time they met each other. It's amazing. My mum was applying for a job and had not known how to get to the place. My dad saw and recognized her and got his friend to give them both a lift. I believe their friendship took off from there. :)
I was gushing over how "coincident" it was and my mum was like: yea.. it's really fate. If that guy's yours, even if it would mean going a long way or a roundabout, he will still be yours. :)
I like that. I believe God is in control of everything. And even for my parents who do not know Him yet, theirs is a destiny pre-planned and prepared by God Himself.
Same speaks for mine and all of yours too.
the thing to thank God for today would be:
His bringing our parents together in marriage
for there wouldn't be us here this day had not first a union of theirs. :)
