My name cards arrived today and as much as I'm thrilled to get them on my hands..it looked and felt kind of strange initially. Is it the same way everyone feels too..? To have your name on a card to be freely given to all who wants to know where you're from and what you have to offer.....? I'm just thinking here. :)
It isn't the first time I'm having name cards as I had gotten my first on a job a couple of years back. But this time, it is different. It feels wonderful, perhaps it's because of my position in the bank now. I remembered praying out these words at the beginning of this year: that it will be a year whereby my position in the bank will be established. 3 - 4 months later, I became a permanent staff. God is a good God.
Anyway, it's funny and heartwarming at the same time to see both my parents having my name card in hand and looking at it intently, studying it. I could see the pride and happiness and it makes me even happier about it. Something so simple and even common can be of such great significance to my parents. I guess it acts as a sign to them, telling them and assuring them that their daughter is finally coming to a place where they can let go, knowing that things are now firm and stable for her.
I want to quickly take over more of the household matters. I want to see myself start taking over the payment of most bills in the next one year.
It's really nice to know our aging parents can begin counting on us to provide for them. I realised today the extent my mum had went through during the growing up years of me and my brother. I love her, she's the strongest woman in my life. :)
